Nonstop flights from Bogota's El Dorado (BOG) to Toronto Pearson take about five and a half to six hours on Avianca or Air Canada. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks the flight, includes 60 minutes of waiting from actual landing, and drives you at a fixed all-in fare: roughly $130–160 to downtown or $105–135 to North York in a business sedan, plus HST.
Bogota to Toronto Pearson: what the transfer looks like
The Bogota flight is long enough that most people arrive a little dazed: an early start in the Andes, five or six hours in the air, then a border hall in a new country. The job of the car is to remove every decision from the last hour. You book with the flight number. The dispatcher tracks it from El Dorado and sends the chauffeur for the actual landing, not the timetable. You have 60 minutes of included waiting after touchdown for the kiosks, the officer and the carousel. Then you go out to the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area, or meet the chauffeur inside with a name board if you added meet and greet. The fixed fare was confirmed before you paid; there is nothing to negotiate at the curb.
Who flies Bogota to Toronto
As of September 2026, Avianca and Air Canada fly nonstop between Bogota and Toronto Pearson, with Avianca operating the larger share of weekly flights according to route listings. Both are Star Alliance members. Air Canada arrives at Terminal 1; for Avianca, confirm the terminal with our Pearson terminal finder or your booking before you fly. Many travellers from Medellin, Cali, Cartagena or Barranquilla connect in Bogota; if you are on a connection, give us the flight number of the Bogota–Toronto leg, because that is the one we track. The departure airport's own site is El Dorado, and Air Canada's is aircanada.com.

Colombian visitors: you need a visitor visa
Colombian citizens need a Canadian visitor visa (temporary resident visa) to visit Canada, and as of September 2026 Colombia is not one of the visa-required countries whose citizens can use an eTA instead. Biometrics are usually part of the application, so apply early. Students need a study permit and workers a work permit, which are separate applications; the port of entry officer at Pearson issues the actual permit on arrival from your letter of introduction. Check the current rules on the Canada.ca entry requirements page and general guidance on IRCC's site. We are a car service, not an immigration adviser; the officer's decision is final.
Students arriving from Colombia
Many passengers on this route are students heading to Ontario colleges and universities, often on a first trip abroad with two maximum-weight suitcases. If you are arriving on a study permit, expect a stop at the immigration counter inside the hall after the kiosk, where the officer prints your permit; that can add real time. Our 60 included minutes usually cover it, and any wait beyond is billed in 15-minute blocks. Give us the exact residence address, not just the campus. We drive to campuses in Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo and London; for the longer runs, a fixed fare avoids a nervous meter-watch on the 401. Parents paying from Colombia can book and pay online for the student.

Customs and what to declare
Every passenger clears Canada Border Services at Pearson. Scan your passport at a kiosk or eGate, answer the declaration and, if you like, complete the optional Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN before landing. Declare all food. Colombian coffee in sealed bags, bocadillo and packaged sweets are common and usually allowed once declared; fresh fruit, meat and dairy are the items most likely to be refused. Carry medicines in their original packaging with the prescription. The CBSA site is the official source, and our arriving in Canada guide walks through the hall in order.
Canadians coming home from Colombia
Toronto residents come back from Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena after family visits, business trips and holidays. Returning after 48 hours or more, you can bring $800 of goods duty- and tax-free, or $200 after 24 hours; alcohol and tobacco limits are separate, and aguardiente counts as spirits, usually one bottle of about 1.14 litres. The rules are in CBSA's I Declare guide. Coming home in winter, keep a warm layer in the carry-on: Bogota is cool at altitude but a Toronto January evening is colder, and the chauffeur has the heater on before you reach the curb.
How your return pickup works
When you book your ride to Pearson for the trip south, add the return leg with the BOG–YYZ flight number. The dispatcher follows the flight from El Dorado; if Bogota fog or a late inbound aircraft pushes the departure back, the chauffeur's arrival moves with it and you are not charged for the delay. If the flight is cancelled and you are rebooked, message dispatch with the new flight number. On landing you receive a message with the chauffeur's name, car and plate. After customs, walk to the pre-arranged commercial pickup area, or look for your name board inside if you chose meet and greet. The fare is fixed and gratuity is included.
Where passengers from Bogota go in the GTA
Colombians in Toronto live across the whole region rather than one neighbourhood, so rides from this flight usually end at family homes in Mississauga, Etobicoke, North York, Brampton, Vaughan and Scarborough, or at student residences. For Latin American groceries, bakeries and restaurants, parts of St. Clair Avenue West and Kensington Market have long been reliable, and Colombian restaurants can be found in Mississauga and North York too. Business visitors head downtown to the Financial District or to offices around the airport. First visit? Our first-time visitor guide to Toronto covers transit, neighbourhoods and tipping, and Destination Toronto lists what is on.
Timing: Bogota time and Toronto time
Colombia stays on UTC minus five all year and does not use daylight saving time. In the Toronto winter the two cities share the same clock; from March to early November Bogota is one hour behind Toronto. Bogota is also about 2,600 metres above sea level, so some travellers feel it the other way when they fly south. For bookings, give us the flight number and date; confirmations are always in Toronto time, and the chauffeur is dispatched to the live landing whatever the printed schedule says.
The outbound run: Toronto to Bogota in winter
For a flight back to Colombia, most airlines ask international passengers to be at the airport about three hours before departure; follow your airline's rule, and see how early to arrive at Pearson. From downtown allow 35–55 minutes on clear roads to Terminal 1, from Kitchener-Waterloo 70–100 minutes via the 401. In snow, add 20–30 minutes; in freezing rain, more. Chauffeurs check Ontario 511 before leaving the yard. Two full suitcases plus a carry-on each is normal on this route, so two travellers with four checked bags need an SUV or luxury van rather than a sedan.

Family visits and quinceaneras
Summer and the December holidays bring grandparents and cousins up from Colombia for long visits, graduations and celebrations. If the family is gathering for a quinceanera or a wedding, we can handle the airport pickups and the event day together: a sedan or SUV for the arrivals, and a stretch limousine or party bus for the celebration through vetted partner operators, priced in writing by a coordinator. See sweet 16 and quinceanera limo and family visits and reunions. For older relatives, request airline wheelchair assistance when booking the flight and tell us, so the chauffeur coordinates with the airline's agent at the doors.
Business travel between Bogota and Toronto
Mining, energy, finance and technology tie the two cities together, and Toronto hosts large mining and investment events where Colombian delegations are common. A first-class sedan gives you a quiet back seat for the first call after landing. A corporate car service account puts a visiting team's trips on one invoice, and hourly booking at $130–150 per hour in a sedan (three-hour minimum) suits a day of meetings across downtown and the airport corridor. Tell us the addresses and the order when you book, and dispatch will plan around the 401 and Gardiner rush hours.
Connecting onward from Pearson
Not everyone arriving from Bogota is staying in Toronto. Some travellers continue to Ottawa, Montreal or Kingston; some have a Porter flight from Billy Bishop the next morning; some are heading straight to a campus two hours away. We can drive any of those. Pearson to Billy Bishop is a planning figure of $145–175 in a business sedan; see our Pearson to Billy Bishop route. For a student going to London or Kitchener-Waterloo, the fixed fare avoids a second journey on public transit with heavy bags after a long day. If you would rather take the train into the city, the UP Express runs from Terminal 1 to Union Station in about 25 minutes, roughly every 15 minutes, and is a sensible choice for a solo traveller with light luggage.
Practical tips for the BOG to YYZ flight
- Book with the Bogota–Toronto flight number, even if your trip started in Medellin or Cali.
- Keep your study or work permit letter in your carry-on, not your checked bag.
- Buy a Canadian eSIM or turn on roaming so the chauffeur's message reaches you.
- Declare coffee and sweets; keep them in one bag.
- Bring a jacket from October to April.
- The travel desk can add a hotel for the first nights before residence opens.
