For a Hong Kong to Toronto Pearson arrival, TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks your Cathay Pacific or connecting flight, times the chauffeur to the real landing and includes 60 minutes of waiting for customs and baggage. Pearson to Markham is a planning figure of $145–180 in a business sedan, Richmond Hill $135–165 and downtown Toronto $130–160, all-in before HST.
Hong Kong to Toronto Pearson: the fixed-fare ride
The Hong Kong to Toronto Pearson flight is one of the longest scheduled routes into Canada, and passengers arrive with little patience left for the last leg. A pre-booked chauffeur removes the uncertainty. Enter the flight number and drop-off address, choose a vehicle and confirm one all-in price covering the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, airport fees, 407 tolls if used and gratuity, with HST shown on its own line. The flight is tracked from Hong Kong International, so an early arrival finds the chauffeur already there and a delayed one costs nothing extra. You receive the chauffeur's name and mobile number the evening before and a message when you land.
Airlines between Hong Kong and Toronto
Cathay Pacific is the airline flying non-stop between Hong Kong International and Toronto Pearson, with several flights a week that vary by season; block times are around fifteen and a half hours eastbound from Toronto and a little shorter the other way. Many travellers also fly one-stop, typically through Vancouver on Air Canada or Cathay Pacific, or through another Asian or North American hub. For those itineraries, the flight we track is the one that lands in Toronto. Schedules and flight numbers change; check your ticket or Cathay Pacific's site. Hong Kong International Airport publishes information for the departure end.
Which Pearson terminal for Hong Kong flights
Cathay Pacific is a oneworld airline and has generally used Terminal 3 at Pearson; Air Canada flights, including connections through Vancouver, arrive at Terminal 1. Airline terminal assignments change from time to time, and codeshare tickets can put you on a different carrier from the one you booked, so check the terminal printed on your boarding pass or use the Pearson terminal finder. Tell us the operating airline at booking and the chauffeur goes to the right building. The free Terminal Link train connects the two if plans change on the day.

Markham, Richmond Hill and the Cantonese-speaking GTA
Toronto's links with Hong Kong run deep, and a large part of that community settled north and east of the city. Markham and Richmond Hill have some of the largest Chinese communities in Canada, with shopping centres such as Pacific Mall and dense clusters of Cantonese restaurants and bakeries along Highway 7. Scarborough's Agincourt area and the old Chinatown on Spadina Avenue downtown are the other anchors. From Pearson, the chauffeur usually takes the 407 toward Markham and Richmond Hill when the 401 is congested; the toll is inside the fare. See the Markham car service and Richmond Hill pages for neighbourhood timings.
Entry to Canada from Hong Kong
Holders of a Hong Kong SAR passport, and holders of a British National (Overseas) passport, are on Canada's eTA-required list and apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization before flying rather than for a visitor visa. Travellers on other passports, including many mainland Chinese citizens flying through Hong Kong, follow the rules for their own citizenship, which may require a visa. Apply only through the official eTA page, and check Canada's entry requirements by country for your situation. People arriving on work or study permits, or landing as new permanent residents, should expect extra time with an officer at Pearson.

After fifteen hours in the air
Hong Kong is twelve hours ahead of Toronto during Canadian daylight time and thirteen hours ahead in winter, so the body clock is turned almost completely upside down. Afternoon arrivals in Toronto feel like 3 or 4 am. That affects how you should plan the first day: book the car rather than improvising, eat something light, and resist a long nap if you want to sleep that night. It also affects the ride. Business travellers often ask for a first-class sedan (S-Class or 7 Series) to sleep in the back on the way to Markham or downtown; families usually prefer the space of a van. Tell the chauffeur if you would like the temperature or music changed.
Customs at Pearson
After leaving the aircraft, follow signs to Canada Border Services Agency inspection. Kiosks or eGates handle the first step, and an officer then checks documents. All food, plant and animal products must be declared, which on a flight from Hong Kong often includes dried seafood, mooncakes in autumn, tea, herbal products and snacks; some are allowed once declared and some are not. Currency or monetary instruments of CAN$10,000 or more must also be declared. The CBSA publishes the rules. The optional Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN can shorten the kiosk step.
The 60 minutes of included waiting
The fare includes 60 minutes of waiting counted from the aircraft's actual landing time, which covers most passengers' walk, inspection and baggage. When a Cathay Pacific flight lands at the same time as other long-haul arrivals, the hall can be busy; message dispatch if you think you will need longer. After the included hour, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks and we tell you before it starts. Pickup is curbside at the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area, and the chauffeur's position comes to your phone when you land. The pickup rules guide explains where cars wait at each terminal.
Meet & greet for elderly relatives
For parents or grandparents arriving from Hong Kong to visit children in Markham or Richmond Hill, meet & greet is often worth the planning figure of $25–35. The chauffeur stands in the arrivals hall with a name board, helps with the trolley and walks the passengers to the car. Please tell us when you book if the travellers speak limited English; we will pass on the booking details in writing so they can show them, and the family member who booked receives every update. If the airline is providing a wheelchair, note it and the chauffeur meets the agent at the exit. The meet and greet service page has the details.
Business arrivals and the financial district
Hong Kong remains one of Asia's great financial centres, and many arrivals on this route are bankers, lawyers and executives heading to meetings on Bay Street, in Mississauga's corporate parks or in the technology offices of Markham. For them, a car booked on a corporate account, with receipts by email and the ability to add a same-day chauffeur for meetings, is standard. The corporate car service page covers accounts, and a chauffeur by the hour, from a three-hour minimum, suits back-to-back meetings on arrival day.

Traffic from Pearson to the north and east
Pearson is in the west end of the region, and Markham, Richmond Hill and Scarborough are in the north and east. The fastest route depends on the hour. Outside rush hour, the 401 to the 404 or the DVP moves well. At weekday peak, when the 401 across the top of the city backs up, the 407 toll route is often faster to Markham, Richmond Hill and Unionville. Downtown is 25 to 30 minutes on a quiet evening via the 427 and Gardiner and 45 minutes or more at peak. In winter, allow for snow. Conditions are on Ontario 511.
Travelling with family and luggage
Families moving between Hong Kong and Toronto, whether visiting, returning or relocating, rarely travel with just hand luggage. A business sedan carries three passengers and three large bags; four bags means an executive SUV or luxury van, each rated for six passengers and six bags; bigger family groups fit a Sprinter with fourteen of each. Child seats are available on request at booking, and Ontario requires them in private vehicles. The fleet page shows each class with photos.
The return flight to Hong Kong
Book the departure leg in the same reservation. The engine suggests a pickup time from your address, the hour and the three-hour check-in window most airlines recommend for long-haul departures. Cathay Pacific's Toronto departures and Air Canada's flights via Vancouver leave from different terminals; check which one applies. From Markham on a weekday afternoon, the 401 is the main risk, so leave extra time. See how early to arrive at Pearson for timing by hour and terminal.
Practical tips
- Keep the Canadian address in both English and Chinese characters on your phone to show the chauffeur if needed.
- Switch on roaming or buy a Canadian eSIM before landing; the chauffeur messages you at touchdown.
- Declare food at the kiosk, even if it is packaged and you think it is allowed.
- Lost luggage? File the report with your airline before walking out of the baggage hall, and message dispatch so the car waits.
- Add the return leg now; cancellation is free more than 72 hours ahead.
Mid-Autumn, Lunar New Year and summer peaks
Flights between Hong Kong and Toronto fill up around Lunar New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas and the school summer holidays. In those weeks, book the car as soon as the flight is confirmed, allow for longer immigration lines and heavier suitcases, and consider meet & greet for older relatives, since the arrivals hall is at its busiest.
Relocating from Hong Kong
A significant number of Hong Kong families have relocated to the GTA in recent years, and moving day at Pearson looks different from a holiday arrival: more suitcases, pets travelling as cargo, and documents for a new life in Canada. If you are relocating, book a luxury van or two vehicles, note any extra items in the booking, and give us the address of the temporary rental or relatives' home where you will stay first. A chauffeur by the hour can also take you to see neighbourhoods, schools and banks in the first week.
Cancellation and flight changes
If the airline retimes or cancels your flight, update the flight number and the pickup follows; that is not a cancellation. Should you cancel, there is no fee beyond 72 hours before pickup; the charge then steps up to 10 % (72 hours or less), 50 % (48 hours or less) and 100 % (24 hours or less, or a no-show).
