Madrid to Toronto Pearson is flown nonstop by Air Canada and, since June 2026, by Iberia on the Airbus A321XLR. Flights take roughly eight and a half to nine and a half hours. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks your flight, includes 60 minutes of waiting from landing and drives you to downtown Toronto for a planning figure of $130–160 in a business sedan, all-in before HST. Spanish citizens need an eTA.
Madrid to Toronto Pearson: what the transfer includes
The booking takes about two minutes. You enter Pearson as the pickup, your hotel, office or home as the destination, and the Madrid flight number. The reservation engine shows a fixed fare for each vehicle class, covering the chauffeur, the car, fuel, airport fees, 407 tolls if the chauffeur uses the highway, and gratuity. HST appears on a separate line. On the day, the dispatcher follows the flight from Barajas and times the chauffeur to the real landing. You clear customs, collect your bags and walk to the terminal's commercial pickup area, where the chauffeur meets you at the spot described in a text message. That is the whole process, and it works the same at 2 pm on a Tuesday or during a snowstorm in January. The core service is described on our Pearson airport limo page.
Airlines on the Madrid–Toronto route
As of September 2026, Air Canada flies Madrid–Toronto nonstop, and Iberia began its own nonstop on 13 June 2026, five times a week, using the single-aisle Airbus A321XLR. That aircraft is smaller than the widebodies usually seen on the Atlantic, so each flight brings fewer passengers into the customs hall at once. Other airlines connect Madrid and Toronto with a stop, through Lisbon, Paris, Frankfurt, London or US gateways. Seasonal flights come and go, so treat this as a snapshot and check your booking. For the transfer, give us the flight number of the leg that lands at Pearson.
Which terminal to expect
Air Canada and most Star Alliance partners use Terminal 1 at Pearson, so an Air Canada flight from Madrid will normally arrive there. Iberia is a oneworld airline, and we do not guess its terminal: check your boarding pass or airline app, or enter the flight number in our Pearson terminal finder. If something changes on the day, dispatch sees it and moves the chauffeur. For what each building looks like on arrival, our Pearson Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 pages describe the arrivals levels and where pre-booked cars wait.
Time difference and typical landing times
Madrid runs on Central European Time, so Toronto is six hours behind for most of the year, and five hours behind for a few weeks in March and around late October, when the two continents change their clocks on different weekends. Daytime departures from Barajas typically reach Toronto in the afternoon, local time. Your body will say it is late evening. If you have a dinner or a meeting planned, allow for the drive and the rush hour: between about 3:30 and 7 pm, the 427 and the Gardiner can double the time to downtown. The price you booked stays the same whatever the traffic. If your trip includes a connection through another hub, arrival might be well into the evening, when the roads are clearer and the drive is quicker.
Entry requirements for Spanish citizens
Spanish citizens are visa-exempt for short visits to Canada but need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to board a flight, according to the Government of Canada's list of entry requirements by country. Apply on the official eTA page, using the same passport you will travel with, and apply well before you fly in case the application needs extra review. Residents of Spain with a different nationality, including many Latin American passport holders, should check IRCC's visitor pages: some Latin American countries are visa-exempt, others need a visa, and some can use an eTA only under specific conditions. Getting this right before you leave Madrid is far easier than sorting it out at the check-in desk.
Clearing customs at Pearson
After landing, follow signs for Canada Customs. The first step is usually a self-serve kiosk or eGate run by the Canada Border Services Agency, where you answer the declaration questions and scan your passport. If you completed the optional Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN before landing, the kiosk step is shorter. Then an officer checks your documents, you collect your bags and walk out to the arrivals level. Declare food, including jamón, cheese and chorizo, and any cash of $10,000 or more. Most travellers are through in 30 to 60 minutes; our included hour of waiting is designed around that. If you are pulled for a secondary check, let dispatch know.

Included waiting and what happens if you are delayed
International arrivals include 60 minutes of waiting from actual landing. A departure delay in Madrid is not your problem: we move the chauffeur's timing to match the flight, and there is no extra charge. After the included hour, waiting time is billed in 15-minute blocks, and dispatch always messages first. The one thing we ask is that you keep your phone on after landing and connect to Pearson's free Wi-Fi so the pickup message reaches you. If you arrive without a working phone, meet & greet removes the problem entirely.
Meet & greet in the arrivals hall
The standard fare is a curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area. If you would rather be met inside, add meet & greet at booking: the chauffeur stands in the arrivals hall with your name on a board, helps with bags and walks with you to the car. The planning figure is $25–35. We recommend it for first-time visitors to Canada, for travellers who do not speak English comfortably, for students arriving for a semester with several suitcases, and for executives who want a named handover. Our meet and greet page explains exactly what the chauffeur does.

Who flies in from Madrid, and where they go
Toronto does not have a Spanish neighbourhood in the sense of Little Italy or Greektown; the city's large Spanish-speaking population has mostly Latin American roots and lives across the GTA. What we see from Madrid is a mix. Business travellers go to the Financial District, or to offices in Mississauga and Vaughan. Engineers and project teams on construction and transit contracts often stay near their sites. Students arrive for the downtown universities and for colleges across the GTA. Tourists stay downtown or in Yorkville, and many families visit relatives who emigrated for work. For hotel-to-meeting trips during your stay, see our black car service.

Travelling for business from Madrid
Business trips from Madrid often come with a tight first day: land in the afternoon, check in, dinner with the Toronto team. Two small choices help. Book a first-class sedan if you plan to work or take a call in the back; it is quieter and roomier than the business class. And if your assistant books for you, have them add your mobile number and the meeting address as a note, so the chauffeur can take you straight to the office if the flight is early. Companies that bring teams over regularly can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing and a single booking contact; see our corporate car service page. For a day of meetings across the GTA, an hourly booking with a three-hour minimum, a planning figure of $130–150 an hour in a sedan, keeps the same chauffeur with you all day.
Picking the right vehicle
A business sedan carries three passengers and three standard bags. For a first-class ride after a long flight, the first-class sedan class (S-Class or 7 Series) offers more rear legroom and a quieter cabin. Families and small teams with more luggage fit an executive SUV or luxury van, which carries six people and six bags. Groups of up to 14, such as a project team or a school group, fit a Sprinter. For weddings or events we also offer stretch limousines, Rolls-Royce and Maybach cars and coaches through vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, which we disclose on every such booking. Compare the classes on the fleet page.
Seasonal notes: summer, TIFF and winter
The Iberia service started in June, just before Toronto's busiest months. In summer, pickups are straightforward, but Friday afternoons before long weekends can be slow on every highway leaving the city. In September, the Toronto International Film Festival fills downtown hotels and closes some streets around King Street West; allow extra time if your hotel is in the Entertainment District. From December to March, snow and freezing rain can slow the drive; the chauffeur watches Environment Canada warnings and plans the route. All our vehicles use winter tires. None of this changes the booked fare.
Onward travel from Toronto
Madrid travellers often continue within Canada or cross into the United States. We drive to Niagara Falls, a planning figure of $345–420 in a sedan from Pearson, and to Buffalo's airport and New York with our own chauffeurs. Longer trips to Ottawa and Montreal are handled as long-distance transfers. If you have a connection from the Toronto Island airport, the Pearson to Billy Bishop transfer runs about $145–175. Hourly bookings, with a three-hour minimum, suit site visits and meetings in several places on the same day.
The flight home to Madrid
Allow at least three hours at Pearson before your international departure; more before holiday weekends or during winter storms. From downtown, an evening flight usually means leaving in the middle of the afternoon rush, so book a pickup time with a margin. The chauffeur drops you at the correct departures curb, and our guide to how early to arrive at Pearson sets out typical timings. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10 % applies within 72 hours, 50 % within 48 hours and 100 % within 24 hours or for a no-show.
Practical tips for travellers from Spain
- Canadian electrical outlets are type A/B at 120 volts; bring an adapter for your phone charger.
- Tipping culture is stronger in Canada than in Spain, but your transfer already includes gratuity.
- Keep your arriving flight number handy: we track that, not the booking reference.
- If your flight arrives at the same time as several larger jets, the customs hall can be busy; the included hour allows for it.
- Check live arrivals and airport information on the Toronto Pearson website.
