Arriving at Toronto Pearson from Manila usually means Philippine Airlines' nonstop from Ninoy Aquino International, one of the longest flights into Canada. Filipino citizens need a visitor visa unless they qualify for an eTA. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks the flight, includes 60 minutes of free waiting, and quotes a fixed fare, about $105–135 to Little Manila in North York in a sedan.
Manila to Toronto Pearson: what the pickup looks like
The flight is long and the landing is emotional. Most Manila arrivals are family: a parent coming for a new grandchild, a spouse reuniting after months apart, a relative arriving to settle permanently. Our job is to make the last 30 minutes of that journey easy. You book a vehicle sized for the real luggage, give us the flight number, and the chauffeur is parked at the commercial pickup area when you come out of customs. The fare is set before you fly and includes chauffeur, fuel, airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. Nobody haggles at the curb, and nobody needs to circle the terminal while a relative waits inside.
Who flies Manila to Toronto nonstop
Philippine Airlines is the only airline operating nonstop between Manila and Toronto Pearson as of September 2026, flying the route several times a week; schedules and aircraft change by season, so confirm on your ticket or on the Philippine Airlines site. The great-circle distance is roughly 13,000 km, and eastbound flights run well over 14 hours. Many travellers instead connect through Vancouver, Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul or a US hub on other carriers, which changes where and when you arrive. If you connected in Vancouver on a domestic leg, you cleared Canadian customs there and will land at Pearson as a Canadian or US arrival, with 30 minutes of included waiting instead of 60. Departure information for Manila is on the Manila International Airport Authority site.
Which Pearson terminal to expect
We do not publish a terminal for Philippine Airlines because terminal assignments at Pearson change and are best confirmed at the source. Check your e-ticket or use our Pearson terminal finder the week you fly, and put the terminal in your booking. If you are flying with a connection, the terminal depends on the airline operating the final leg into Toronto, not the airline that sold you the ticket. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are separate buildings with separate commercial pickup areas, linked by the free Terminal Link train, so a wrong terminal can cost 15 minutes that tired travellers do not want to spend.
Entry requirements for Filipino citizens
Most Filipino citizens need a temporary resident visa (visitor visa) to visit Canada. There is an important exception for air travel: Filipinos who have held a Canadian visa in the past 10 years, or who currently hold a valid US non-immigrant visa, can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead. The eTA route only covers arrival by air, and it must be approved before you board. Check your own eligibility on the official eTA page and with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada; do not rely on a travel agent's summary. New permanent residents landing for the first time carry their Confirmation of Permanent Residence and complete landing formalities in the customs hall, which takes longer, so build in extra waiting time at booking.

Customs, food and balikbayan boxes
Everyone arriving from abroad passes through the Canada Border Services Agency hall. Declare all food. Dried mangoes, sealed snacks, coffee and candies are routinely allowed, but meat products, especially pork items such as longganisa, tocino or pork chicharon, are the ones most likely to be refused, and penalties apply to undeclared items. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency explains the rules. Balikbayan boxes are a normal sight at Pearson: tape them well, label them clearly and expect to collect them at the oversized or regular belt depending on size. A pre-arrival Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN is optional but can make the kiosk step quicker.
The included 60 minutes, and when to add more
International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting from actual landing. For many Manila flights that is enough to taxi, deplane, clear customs and collect ordinary suitcases. Add extra waiting at booking if any of these apply: someone is landing as a new permanent resident, someone is collecting a work or study permit, you have requested wheelchair assistance from the airline (the assistance team moves at its own pace), or you have several balikbayan boxes coming out on a separate belt. Extra waiting is charged in 15-minute blocks only after the included hour runs out. It is cheaper to plan an extra half hour than to rebook a car because a landing interview ran long.

Choosing a car for balikbayan boxes and family luggage
This is the section most Manila travellers should read twice. A sedan is sized for three people and three suitcases; it will not take two balikbayan boxes plus luggage. An executive SUV or luxury van takes six people and six bags, and with fewer passengers there is more cargo room, though boxes vary in size. A family of five with two boxes each needs a Sprinter van, which takes 14 passengers and 14 bags. Tell us the number and approximate size of the boxes in the booking notes. The chauffeur loads everything, but will not drive with cargo blocking the windows or sitting loose in the passenger cabin.
Little Manila and where Filipino families settle
Toronto's Little Manila is centred on Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue in North York, a strip of Filipino bakeries, restaurants, remittance offices and grocery stores that is recognised as a cultural hub. It is one of the shortest runs from Pearson on this page, via the 401 east to Bathurst, and our North York car service page covers the area. Filipino families live right across the GTA, though, not only in Little Manila, so plenty of drop-offs are in Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough and Vaughan. The Taste of Manila street festival on Bathurst is usually held in summer; check the organisers' current dates before planning a visit around it.

Meet and greet for first-time arrivals and older parents
Curbside pickup at the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area is what the fare includes. For a lola or lolo travelling alone, a first-time visitor, or anyone who would feel lost in a large arrivals hall, add airport meet and greet. The chauffeur waits inside with a name board where passengers exit customs, takes over the trolley and walks them to the car; the planning figure is $25–35. Put the name on the board exactly as it appears in the passport, including a middle name if the family uses it, so an older relative recognises it straight away. If a family member is also coming to meet them, we can collect that person from home on the same booking.
Jet lag after the long eastbound flight
Manila is 12 hours ahead of Toronto during Eastern Daylight Time and 13 hours ahead in winter. After a 14-plus hour flight, a gentle ride matters. Chauffeurs drive smoothly, keep the car warm in winter and cool in summer, and carry bottled water. If a passenger is elderly or has mobility issues, mention it so the chauffeur can plan the shortest walk the pickup rules allow and help with the bags and the door. For anyone who needs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle rather than help with a folding chair, book wheelchair accessible transfers instead, which uses ramp-equipped vans arranged in advance.
Family reunion pickups with relatives on board
Many families want to be at the airport themselves. You can book a pickup that starts at your home, collects you, drives to Pearson and waits for the arriving passenger, then takes everyone home. The fare is quoted for the whole trip. Parking at Pearson is expensive and the arrivals curb is strictly enforced, so this is often simpler than bringing your own car, especially with a stroller or two. Tell us how many people are coming along so the vehicle has room for the family plus the new arrival's luggage. The family visits and reunions page explains how multi-stop reunion bookings work.
Children and car seats
Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one. Add infant, convertible or booster seats at booking, free or a planning figure of $10–15 each, and the chauffeur installs them before arriving. The province's car seat guidance explains which stage fits which child. If grandparents are bringing a toddler to Canada for the first time, include the child's age and weight so we bring the right seat rather than guessing.
Returning to Manila: when to leave for Pearson
For the flight home, plan to be at the terminal about three hours before an international departure, and earlier if you are checking balikbayan boxes, which often need extra time at the counter and may carry excess baggage fees. From North York, a weekday afternoon pickup three and a half hours before departure is sensible; from Brampton or Mississauga, three hours usually works. Confirm the departure terminal on your ticket. Our how early to arrive at Pearson guide covers timing by day and hour, and the same vehicle-size rule applies: boxes going back need the SUV or Sprinter too.
Holiday season and winter arrivals
December is a very busy month for travel between Canada and the Philippines, with families flying both ways around Christmas. Book early for December arrivals and departures, because larger vehicles are the first to fill. Snow can slow the 401 and 427 considerably, and chauffeurs check Environment Canada forecasts and leave early after storms. Our cars run winter tires in season. A relative arriving from the Philippines in January may not own a winter coat; tell them to keep one in their carry-on, or bring one to the car, because the walk from the terminal door to the pickup area is outdoors.
Cancellation and flight changes
Measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. A delayed flight is not a cancellation. Because we track the flight, a late landing moves the pickup automatically. If the flight is cancelled and the passenger is rebooked to a later date, message dispatch with the new flight number as soon as you have it and the booking moves without penalty.
How to book a Manila arrival pickup
Use the reservation engine on this page or go to the booking page. Enter Toronto Pearson with the correct terminal, the destination address, the arrival date in Toronto time (the flight crosses the date line, so the Toronto date may differ from what relatives in Manila say), the flight number, passenger count, suitcases and the number of boxes. Choose the vehicle, add meet and greet or car seats, and you will see one fixed fare before paying. The confirmation arrives by email at once. If you are booking for relatives, add their mobile number so the chauffeur can reach them on arrival.
