From Union Station to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre the quickest route is on foot: the covered SkyWalk runs from the west end of Union straight to both MTCC buildings. For delegates with luggage, exhibitors with cases, or anyone arriving from Pearson, a chauffeured transfer is a fixed $130–160 planning fare in a business sedan, all-in plus HST. Shuttle loops are quoted per event.
Union Station to Metro Toronto Convention Centre
"Union Station to Metro Toronto Convention Centre" is one of the most searched short trips in the city, and the honest answer is: walk. The MTCC's getting-here page explains that the SkyWalk, a glass-enclosed walkway that starts at the west end of Union Station, connects directly to the South Building at 222 Bremner Boulevard and bridges to the North Building at 255 Front Street West. It is indoors, step-free and takes around ten minutes at a comfortable pace.
A car makes sense when you are carrying display cases or sample boxes, when someone in the group uses a wheelchair or struggles with distance, or when it is raining and you have a suitcase and two hours before your session. In those cases book a short point-to-point: the reservation engine quotes the exact fare, which for a trip this short is modest, and the chauffeur drops at the Front Street entrance for the North Building or on Bremner Boulevard for the South Building.
Convention transportation Toronto: what we actually do
Convention and trade show transportation covers four jobs: getting delegates from Pearson or Billy Bishop to their hotels, moving speakers and VIPs between hotels, venues and dinners, running shuttle loops for exhibitors and attendees, and handling the rush back to the airport on the last day.
TorontoAirportTransfer.services runs its own sedans, SUVs, luxury vans and Sprinters, and arranges coaches through vetted partners in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network. Individual delegate rides are booked in the reservation engine at a fixed all-in fare. Multi-vehicle programmes are priced in writing by a coordinator. We are not the official transport provider for any venue or show; organisers and delegates book us directly.
Planning fares from Pearson to Toronto convention venues
| Venue | Area | Business sedan from Pearson | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro Toronto Convention Centre | Downtown (Front St W / Bremner Blvd) | $130–160 | 25–45 min via 427 and Gardiner |
| Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place | Downtown west (Princes' Blvd) | $130–160 | Gardiner exit near Exhibition Place |
| Toronto Congress Centre | Etobicoke (Dixon Road area) | $90–120 or less | minutes from Pearson |
| The International Centre | Mississauga (Airport Road) | $90–120 or less | on Pearson's eastern edge |
An executive SUV or luxury van runs about 25–30 % above the sedan; a 14-seat Sprinter about 2.2 times. The reservation engine quotes the exact fare for each address and date. For volume and account billing see corporate car service.
Metro Toronto Convention Centre: North and South buildings
The MTCC is split across two buildings on either side of the rail corridor. The North Building on Front Street West, facing the CBC building and close to the Fairmont Royal York, holds exhibit halls A, B and C. The South Building, entered from Bremner Boulevard beside the CN Tower and Rogers Centre, holds halls D through G. They are linked internally.
Tell us the hall on your badge and we will drop at the right building. On a Blue Jays day or concert night, Bremner Boulevard fills with fans; we then prefer the Front Street entrance and let you walk through. For morning arrivals between 8 and 9 a.m., Front Street traffic is heavy but moving; allow 10 extra minutes coming from a hotel in Yorkville or midtown.

Enercare Centre and Exhibition Place
The Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, on the western waterfront, is one of the country's largest exhibition hall complexes and hosts consumer shows, industrial expos and events such as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. It sits beside the Beanfield Centre, Hotel X and the Coca-Cola Coliseum. Details are on the Enercare Centre site and Exhibition Place.
From Pearson we come in on the Gardiner and exit toward Exhibition Place; from downtown hotels it is usually 10–20 minutes along Front, King or Lake Shore. Drop-off is at the venue's main entrance on Princes' Boulevard unless show management directs taxis elsewhere. When several events run at once (a trade show, a TFC match and a concert), internal roads can close, and pickups move to Lake Shore or to Hotel X's forecourt. Exhibition GO station is also on site for delegates heading west.
Toronto Congress Centre near Pearson
The Toronto Congress Centre sits in Etobicoke's Dixon Road corridor, minutes from Pearson and surrounded by airport hotels. It is the natural choice for a delegate flying in for one or two days: land, check into a nearby hotel, walk or ride a few minutes to the show, fly out. See the Toronto Congress Centre site for hall details.
Transfers here are short, so the fare falls at or below the Etobicoke planning band; the reservation engine gives the exact figure. The more useful service is often the evening: a client dinner downtown or in Yorkville, then back to an airport hotel. That is a good fit for an hourly chauffeur, or two one-way transfers if dinner timing is fixed.
The International Centre in Mississauga
The International Centre on Airport Road in Mississauga sits on Pearson's eastern boundary and hosts trade shows, cultural festivals, consumer events and large banquets. Its official site lists halls and current events.
From T1 or T3 the drive is short, but the airport ring roads and Airport Road traffic at shift change can make it slower than it looks on a map; allow 15–25 minutes. Delegates staying downtown face a 30–50 minute drive each way depending on the 401 and 427, which is why many exhibitors choose Mississauga or airport hotels. For multi-day exhibitor teams we set up standing morning and evening pickups from one hotel so everyone travels together.
Delegate shuttles and loop services
For an event with several hundred attendees staying in a handful of hotels, organisers often want a shuttle loop: hotel to venue every 20 or 30 minutes in the morning, the reverse in the evening, and extra runs for gala dinners. We build these with Sprinters (14 seats), luxury vans and, for larger numbers, coaches through partner operators.
A coordinator works from your attendee numbers, hotel list, session times and budget, and prices the programme in writing. We supply a dispatch contact on site and track the loop so the gaps don't grow at peak times. For single-group transfers, like a sales team of 12 going from Union Station to the MTCC with sample cases, a Sprinter booked by the hour is usually enough. For recurring staff moves see employee and crew shuttles.
VIP speakers, keynotes and executive delegates
Keynote speakers and executives often have tight schedules: land at Pearson or Billy Bishop, speak at 10, lunch with sponsors, a media interview, a flight at six. We assign one chauffeur for the day, usually in a first-class sedan or executive SUV, with the itinerary loaded and a direct line to dispatch.
For speakers arriving at Billy Bishop, the island airport is only a few minutes from both the MTCC and the Enercare Centre, which makes it the fastest way into a downtown convention from cities Porter and Air Canada serve directly. For security-sensitive guests see VIP and executive protection. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked and includes curbside pickup at the commercial area; meet and greet in the arrivals hall is an add-on.
Exhibitors: move-in, move-out and heavy cases
Exhibitors arriving with roller cases, banner stands and product samples need more room than delegates. An executive SUV takes 6 people and 6 bags; a luxury van is easier to load; a Sprinter takes a team plus a modest amount of kit. Large freight belongs with the show's official freight contractor, not in a passenger vehicle.
Tell us at booking if you are going to the loading dock rather than the front door; show management often restricts dock access to registered vehicles during move-in. Our chauffeurs help load and unload, but we cannot deliver heavy crates onto the show floor. For move-out days, book the return an hour later than you expect; tear-down always takes longer.
Timing: rush hour and big-show weeks
Convention mornings collide with commuter traffic. From Pearson to downtown between 7 and 9:30 a.m. the Gardiner and 427 are at their slowest; allow 45–60 minutes. From Markham, Vaughan or Oakville hotels the 401, 404 and QEW can add more. Weekday afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30 are similar in the other direction.
Some weeks the city is packed: TIFF in September, big medical and technology conferences, and shows at the Enercare Centre and MTCC running at the same time. Hotel rates rise, availability tightens, and so does vehicle availability. Book transfers when you book the hotel; the fixed fare is locked at booking. Our travel desk can pair flights and hotels.

Last-day airport runs
The last afternoon of a show produces a wave of delegates all trying to reach Pearson at once. We recommend booking the airport transfer on the day you book everything else, with pickup time chosen from your flight: at least three hours before an international or US departure from downtown, two and a half for domestic, more at peak times. See how early to arrive at Pearson.
If your team leaves in stages, book several sedans at different times rather than one van that waits for the slowest person. Cancellations more than 72 hours before pickup are free; 72 hours or less is 10 %, 48 hours or less 50 %, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100 %.
Hotels near the venues
Delegates for the MTCC usually stay on Front Street, around Union Station and in the Entertainment District, where most hotels are within a short walk or a PATH connection of the convention centre. For the Enercare Centre, Hotel X sits on the Exhibition Place grounds and King West hotels are a short ride away. For the Toronto Congress Centre and The International Centre, the Dixon Road and Airport Road hotel strips near Pearson are closest.
Staying near the venue does not remove the airport legs, which is where a fixed fare helps most: book the arrival and departure together and both are locked at booking.
Booking for an organiser or company
Organisers can book individual rides in the reservation engine and send delegates their confirmations, or ask a coordinator for a programme quote. For company accounts, we issue itemised receipts per ride and consolidated statements. Include the event name, badge names, flight numbers and hotel for each traveller.
Accessibility needs, child seats for delegates bringing family, and early or late check-in plans all go in the notes. For corporate hospitality, galas and award dinners around the show, see corporate events and galas.
