Flying Boston to Toronto Pearson takes under two hours on Air Canada or Porter, followed by Canadian customs at Pearson. TorontoAirportTransfer.services includes 30 minutes of free waiting from landing, tracks the flight, and quotes a fixed fare of about $130–160 to downtown, the University of Toronto or the hospital district in a business sedan, all-in before HST.
Boston to Toronto Pearson: who travels the route
Boston and Toronto are joined by universities, teaching hospitals, life sciences, asset management and a long sports rivalry. The people on the Logan flight are often heading to a lecture hall, a research meeting, a board room or an arena, and many of them make the trip several times a year. What they need at Pearson is predictable: a car that knows when the flight actually lands, a chauffeur waiting at the commercial pickup area, and a fare that fits an expense claim without explanation. Every booking on this page is fixed before you fly, includes the chauffeur, fuel, 407 tolls if used, airport fees and gratuity, and shows HST on its own line.
Airlines flying Boston Logan to Toronto Pearson
Air Canada flies Logan to Pearson nonstop, and Porter launched its own Boston to Toronto Pearson service in May 2026, with up to two flights a day on the Embraer E195-E2. Porter has also served Boston from Billy Bishop, the downtown island airport, so check which Toronto airport your ticket shows. Other carriers mostly connect through their hubs, and schedules change by season. Flights typically spend about an hour and three-quarters to two hours in the air. Check departures on the Boston Logan site, and confirm the operating airline with Air Canada or Porter.
Which Pearson terminal for Boston flights
Air Canada normally uses Terminal 1 at Pearson and Porter operates at Terminal 3. If your ticket was sold by one airline but flown by another, the operating airline decides the terminal, so confirm with the airline or our Pearson terminal finder and add it to the booking. The terminals are separate buildings with separate commercial pickup areas, joined by the free Terminal Link train. For a research group or conference party arriving on both airlines, send all the flight numbers and dispatch will plan pickups at each terminal rather than making anyone ride the train with luggage.

Entry requirements for travellers from Boston
US citizens need no eTA or visa to visit Canada, but must carry a valid US passport when flying; NEXUS members may use the card. US green card holders are exempt from the eTA and travel with their passport and green card. Boston's universities and hospitals attract people from everywhere, and a postdoctoral researcher or visiting student holding another passport follows the rules for that nationality, which may mean an eTA or a visitor visa; check the official eTA page early. Anyone coming to work in Canada, including some visiting researchers and clinicians, should confirm with IRCC whether a work permit or exemption applies, and carry the supporting letters.
Customs at Pearson on a Boston flight
Flights from the United States arrive at Pearson as international arrivals, and every passenger clears the Canada Border Services Agency customs hall. An Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN is optional and can shorten the kiosk step. Researchers carrying samples, reagents or scientific equipment should know that biological materials often need permits and advance paperwork; do not assume a hand-carried cooler will be waved through. Standard pickups include 30 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, then 15-minute blocks. Travellers with only carry-on bags are often outside well within half an hour.

Academic travel: campuses and conferences
The University of Toronto St. George campus, Toronto Metropolitan University and York University all host visiting faculty, examiners and conference delegates, and Boston is one of the busiest sources. Campus drop-offs work best at a named building entrance rather than a street corner, so give us the building name and we will plan the approach. Visiting speakers can be met with a name board inside the arrivals hall through the meet and greet add-on. Departments hosting several guests can book everything on one account and receive one invoice. For an academic conference with dozens of arrivals, see our conventions and trade shows page on shuttles.
Medical and life sciences travel
Boston's hospitals and biotech firms work closely with Toronto's research hospitals, and many visitors head to the Discovery District along University Avenue, where the University Health Network hospitals and SickKids sit, or north to Sunnybrook. Clinicians often fly in for a single day of meetings or procedures. We time the pickup to the flight and the drop-off to the hospital entrance the visitor names, not the nearest intersection. Patients and families travelling for treatment can read our medical appointment transportation page, which covers accessibility and waiting options.

Boston to Toronto for business
Boston's asset managers, venture investors and consultancies have strong ties to Bay Street. A morning Logan flight lands in Toronto in time for an early-afternoon meeting in the Financial District, and a first-class sedan gives you a quiet rear cabin for the last call before it. For several meetings in one day, book an hourly chauffeur with a three-hour minimum from $130–150 per hour in a sedan; the car stays with you between buildings and returns you to Pearson. Firms with frequent Boston traffic can set up a corporate account with profiles and consolidated monthly invoices.
Game days: Boston fans in Toronto
Boston and Toronto meet regularly in hockey and baseball, and a busy game night changes the drive. Scotiabank Arena, home of the Maple Leafs, is next to Union Station, and the Rogers Centre, home of the Blue Jays, sits at the foot of the CN Tower. Traffic around both builds for about two hours before a game. If you are flying in for a game, book a pickup that goes straight to your hotel and plan to walk to the venue, or book an evening return from the arena with a set meeting point. Our sports and games transportation page explains game-night pickups.
Families visiting students
Parents from New England often visit students at Toronto universities, and students fly home for holidays. Move-in and move-out weekends in late August, early September and April are the busiest for campus drop-offs, and residence loading zones get crowded. Book a vehicle big enough for everything a student owns, usually an SUV or luxury van, and tell us the residence name. Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one. Younger siblings need seats booked in advance, free or a planning figure of $10–15 each; see Ontario's car seat guidance.
The return to Boston: US preclearance timing
On the way back to Logan, you clear US customs and immigration in Toronto through CBP preclearance, then land in Boston as a domestic passenger with no customs line. At Pearson that means check-in, security and preclearance before the gate, so airlines commonly advise arriving about three hours before departure. From downtown on a weekday afternoon, book the pickup about three and a half hours before the flight; from North York or York University, about three hours. If you fly Porter from Billy Bishop, the island airport now has its own US preclearance facility, but it closes to the public overnight. See how early to arrive at Pearson.
Winter flights and weather on both ends
Nor'easters in Boston and snowstorms in Toronto both delay this route in winter. Because we track the actual flight, a storm-delayed departure from Logan simply moves the pickup, and waiting only starts when you land. For return trips on snowy days, chauffeurs check Environment Canada forecasts and leave early; winter tires go on in season. If a storm cancels your flight, send us the new flight number and the booking follows it without a fee.
Cancellation policy
Measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. A delayed or rebooked flight is a change, not a cancellation. Academic hosts booking for a visiting speaker can cancel for free up to 72 hours before pickup if a lecture is postponed.
How to book your Boston to Toronto pickup
Use the reservation engine on this page or the booking page. Enter Pearson and the terminal, the destination with the building or hospital entrance, the arrival date and time in Toronto time, the flight number, passengers and bags. Choose the vehicle and extras such as meet and greet, and the fixed fare appears before you pay. Book the return with the preclearance timing above, and both trips arrive on one confirmation.
Choosing the vehicle for a Boston visit
Most Boston travellers fly light, and a business sedan with room for three passengers and three bags is enough for one or two people. A first-class sedan, S-Class or 7 Series class, suits a visiting executive, a keynote speaker or a senior clinician who will use the drive to prepare. An executive SUV takes six passengers and six bags, and is the right choice for a family moving a student into residence or a research team carrying equipment cases. Groups of up to 14, such as a lab delegation or a university sports team, travel together in a Sprinter at about 2.2 times the sedan fare, usually cheaper per person than several cars.
Meet and greet for speakers, examiners and patients
Curbside pickup at the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area is what the fare includes, and frequent flyers usually prefer it. For a visiting speaker, a thesis examiner, a board member or a patient travelling for treatment, add airport meet and greet at booking, a planning figure of $25–35. The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall at the exit from customs with a name board, takes the bags and walks the guest to the car. Hosts can put their department or hospital name on the board as well, which helps when several guests land within a few minutes of each other.
Driving instead: Boston to Toronto by car
Some travellers prefer to avoid the airports, especially groups with equipment. The drive from Boston to Toronto is long, roughly nine to ten hours, crossing at the Thousand Islands or the Niagara bridges. We run cross-border trips from Toronto with our own chauffeurs to Buffalo, Niagara Falls NY, Detroit and New York; a Boston run is quoted on request through the cross-border limo service. For most people the flight is quicker, but a chauffeured car can make sense for a team moving lab or production equipment that does not fly well.
