Arriving at Toronto Pearson from Chicago O'Hare means a short nonstop on American, United or Air Canada, then Canadian customs at Pearson. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks the flight through any O'Hare ground stop, includes 30 minutes of free waiting and quotes fixed all-in fares: about $90–120 to Mississauga's airport-area venues and $130–160 downtown in a business sedan, before HST.
Chicago O'Hare to Toronto Pearson in practice
The flight is short, usually about an hour and a half in the air, but the day around it is not. O'Hare is one of the busiest hubs in North America, and weather or congestion there can hold departures on the ground. At the Toronto end you still clear a full customs hall. What you want waiting at Pearson is certainty: a car that knows your real landing time, a chauffeur who is already parked when you walk out, and a price that did not change because the flight slipped two hours. That is how every pickup on this page works. You give us the flight number; dispatch follows it from the gate at O'Hare to the runway at Pearson.
Airlines flying Chicago to Toronto nonstop
Between O'Hare and Pearson, American Airlines, United Airlines and Air Canada all operate nonstop flights, with many departures a day across the three carriers. Porter serves the Chicago market separately, flying between Chicago Midway and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport rather than O'Hare and Pearson, so check which Toronto airport is on your ticket. Schedules change each season, so confirm on the O'Hare airport site or with your airline. If your ticket shows Midway to Billy Bishop, you need our Billy Bishop airport transfer page instead, since the island airport's pickup works differently.
Which Pearson terminal: Chicago flights
United and Air Canada are Star Alliance carriers and normally use Terminal 1; American typically uses Terminal 3. Terminal assignments change, and a codeshare ticket sold by one airline may be flown by another, so confirm with the operating airline or our Pearson terminal finder and put the terminal in the booking. The two terminals are separate buildings with separate commercial pickup areas, joined by the free Terminal Link train. If you are travelling with colleagues booked on different airlines, give us all the flight numbers and we will work out whether one vehicle or two makes more sense.

Entry requirements when flying in from Chicago
US citizens need no eTA or visa for Canada but must carry a valid US passport when flying; NEXUS members can use their NEXUS card. US green card holders are exempt from the eTA and travel with their passport and green card. Because O'Hare is a global hub, many people on Chicago flights are connecting from somewhere else, from Europe, Asia or Latin America, and their entry documents depend on citizenship, not on the airport they connected through. A traveller from Brazil or Mexico connecting at O'Hare may need an eTA or a visitor visa. Check the official eTA page and the Canada Border Services Agency before departure.
Customs at Pearson for US flights
Flights from Chicago are international arrivals at Pearson: you walk from the gate to the CBSA customs hall, use a kiosk or see an officer, collect checked bags and exit to the arrivals level. An optional Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN can shave a step. Carry-on-only business travellers are often out quickly; anyone with checked samples, displays or trade-show materials should expect questions, and commercial goods for sale may need to be declared as such. Pickups from US flights include 30 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, and after that the chauffeur waits in 15-minute blocks; exhibitors with checked samples can add waiting at booking. Text the chauffeur as you leave the customs hall.

Trade shows and conventions near Pearson
A lot of Chicago traffic into Toronto is trade-show traffic. Several of the region's large exhibition venues sit close to the airport: the International Centre is in Mississauga right beside Pearson, and the Toronto Congress Centre is in the airport employment area on the Etobicoke side. Downtown, the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre host the big consumer and professional shows. Exhibitors often land with sample cases and pop-up displays, so book an SUV or Sprinter rather than a sedan. Our conventions and trade shows page covers show-week timing and group shuttles.
Business travel and same-day meetings
Chicago and Toronto share industries: finance, insurance, logistics, food manufacturing and automotive supply. A morning departure from O'Hare lands in Toronto around midday, local time, leaving the afternoon for meetings. Remember Toronto is one hour ahead of Chicago. Many bookings go wrong because someone enters the Chicago departure time instead of the Toronto arrival time; the reservation engine wants Toronto time. For a day with several stops, use an hourly chauffeur with a three-hour minimum instead of one-way transfers. Companies with regular Chicago travel can set up a corporate account with monthly invoicing and cost-centre coding.

When O'Hare delays your flight
Thunderstorms in summer and snow in winter are the usual reasons Chicago flights to Toronto leave late. Because we track your flight rather than the timetable, a two-hour ground hold at O'Hare simply moves the pickup. You do not need to call, and the chauffeur's waiting clock does not start until you actually land. If the flight is cancelled and you are rebooked onto a later departure or the next morning, update the flight number in the booking or message dispatch, and the car moves with you. A cancellation by the airline followed by rebooking is a change, not a cancellation of your ride.
Winter on both ends
Chicago travellers know winter, but Toronto's airport highways have their own habits: the 427 and the 401 collector lanes near Pearson back up quickly after snowfall, and the Gardiner can be slow for hours after a storm. Chauffeurs check Environment Canada forecasts, leave earlier for bad weather and run winter tires in season. For a return flight on a snowy morning, we move the pickup earlier rather than risk the preclearance line. The fare does not change because of weather; only the departure time does.
The return: US preclearance at Pearson
When you fly home to Chicago, you clear US customs and immigration at Pearson before boarding, through the US preclearance facility in the terminal. The upside is that you land at O'Hare as a domestic passenger and can walk straight to the curb or a connecting flight. The cost is time in Toronto: check-in, security and a full CBP inspection all happen before departure, and airlines commonly advise arriving about three hours before a US flight. From a Mississauga hotel near the airport, a pickup two and a half to three hours before departure usually works; from downtown, allow about three and a half.
Connections onward from O'Hare
Some Toronto travellers use O'Hare as a hub for onward flights across the US and beyond. Preclearance helps here: because you cleared US customs at Pearson, your connection at O'Hare is usually a domestic transfer. It does not shorten the Toronto end, though, so do not trim the pickup time because the connection looks tight. If you are routing through O'Hare to Latin America or Asia, you will not clear foreign customs until your final destination. Our how early to arrive at Pearson guide sets out return timing by time of day.
Groups, teams and families
Chicago-area school groups, sports teams and tour parties come to Toronto for tournaments, concerts and the city itself. A Sprinter van carries 14 passengers with luggage and costs about 2.2 times a sedan fare, which is far cheaper per head than several cars. Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one; the province's car seat guidance explains the stages.
Meet and greet for visiting executives
The fare includes curbside pickup at the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area, which suits most frequent flyers. If you are hosting a visiting executive, a speaker or a client, add airport meet and greet at booking (planning figure $25–35): the chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall at the customs exit with a name board and walks your guest to the car. For conference speakers we can hold the name board with the event name too, which helps when several guests land close together.
Cancellation policy
Measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. Flight delays and airline rebookings are handled as changes, not cancellations, as long as you tell us the new flight. For trade-show groups whose headcount moves, confirm the final numbers at least 72 hours out, when resizing a vehicle is still free.
Booking your O'Hare to Pearson pickup
Book through the reservation engine on this page or the booking page. Enter Pearson and the terminal, the destination, the arrival date and time in Toronto time, your flight number, passengers and bags, including any display cases. Choose the vehicle, add meet and greet or hourly time as needed, and you will see the fixed fare before paying. Add the return leg on the same booking with the pickup set around preclearance, and both trips appear on one confirmation.
Airport hotels and overnight stays near Pearson
Plenty of Chicago travellers never go downtown at all. The hotel strips along Dixon Road and around the Airport Corporate Centre in Mississauga put you minutes from the terminals, the International Centre and the Toronto Congress Centre, which makes sense for a one-night trade-show visit or an early flight home. Many of those hotels run their own shuttles to the terminals, which are fine for a solo traveller with a carry-on. A booked car earns its fare when you land late with display cases, when colleagues arrive on different airlines, or when the hotel shuttle runs on a schedule that does not match yours. Our Etobicoke car service page covers the Dixon Road side of the airport.
Travelling onward from Toronto after a Chicago flight
Some Chicago travellers use Toronto as the first stop on a longer trip. Kitchener-Waterloo's technology companies are a planning figure of $265–325 from Pearson in a business sedan, Hamilton $195–240 and Niagara Falls $345–420, and the car can collect you directly at the terminal rather than after a connection by train or bus. If you are visiting several cities, an hourly booking or a single multi-stop fare is often simpler than separate trips. The long-distance car service page explains how multi-city itineraries are quoted, and all of these fares include the chauffeur, fuel, tolls, airport fees and gratuity.
