Arriving at Toronto Pearson from Los Angeles means a nonstop of roughly four and a half hours on Air Canada or Porter, then Canadian customs. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks the flight, includes 30 minutes of free waiting and quotes a fixed fare: about $130–160 downtown in a business sedan or $195–240 in a first-class sedan, all-in before HST. US citizens need a passport, not an eTA.
LAX to Toronto Pearson: who is on the plane
The Los Angeles flight carries a particular mix. There are business travellers and Torontonians coming home, but also a steady flow of film and television people, since Toronto is one of the busiest production centres in North America, plus musicians, athletes and their teams. Many land after an overnight flight with little sleep and a call time a few hours later. What they need from the Toronto end is quiet, discreet and exactly on time. Our chauffeurs track the flight from the gate at LAX, park at the commercial pickup area when you land and drive you straight to the hotel, set or office, at a fare fixed when you booked.
Airlines flying Los Angeles to Toronto nonstop
As of September 2026, Air Canada operates the most nonstop flights between LAX and Pearson, and Porter also flies the route nonstop. Other carriers mostly connect through their hubs, and seasonal schedules shift, so check your ticket and the official LAX site for departure details. Nonstop flights typically spend about four and a half to five hours in the air eastbound. Toronto is three hours ahead of Los Angeles, so a morning departure from LAX lands in the late afternoon or evening in Toronto, and an overnight departure lands early the next morning. The reservation engine needs the arrival time in Toronto time; that one detail causes most booking mistakes on this route.
Which Pearson terminal for LAX flights
Air Canada flights normally arrive at Terminal 1; Porter operates at Terminal 3. Always confirm on your booking or with the Pearson terminal finder because assignments change and codeshare tickets can hide the operating airline. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are separate buildings with separate commercial pickup areas, linked by the free Terminal Link train. If a production office is booking cars for several crew members on different flights, send us every flight number and the terminals; dispatch can group arrivals into one vehicle when the landing times line up, or send separate cars when they do not.

Entry requirements for travellers from Los Angeles
US citizens do not need an eTA or visa to visit Canada, but must carry a valid US passport to fly; NEXUS members may use their NEXUS card. US green card holders do not need an eTA and travel with their passport and green card. Other nationals living in California follow the rules for their own passport, and may need an eTA or a visitor visa; check the official eTA page. Anyone coming to work in Canada, including many film and television crew and performers, should confirm with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada whether they need a work permit or qualify for an exemption, and carry the documents. Permit processing at the border takes extra time, so add waiting.
Customs at Pearson after a Los Angeles flight
Flights from the US arrive at Pearson as international arrivals, and every passenger clears the Canada Border Services Agency customs hall before reaching the arrivals level. An Advance Declaration through ArriveCAN is optional and can speed up the kiosk step. Crews carrying professional equipment, cameras or instruments should know what they are declaring and whether they need temporary import paperwork, which a production's customs broker normally handles. The pickup includes 30 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, then 15-minute blocks; crews with equipment cases can add waiting at booking. If you are travelling with equipment cases, message the chauffeur when you are through, not when you land.

Film and TV production arrivals
Toronto's sound stages and locations are spread across the city, from the waterfront and the Port Lands to the west end and beyond, and a crew call can move locations daily. Production offices book us for talent pickups, department heads and visiting executives, often on short notice and with changes. We work to the production's call sheet: pickups timed backwards from call time, name boards with the production's code name rather than the actor's name if requested, and a single invoice to the production accountant. Our film and TV production transportation page explains standing accounts, daily shuttles and how we handle confidentiality.
Talent, VIPs and discreet pickups
For a recognisable passenger, the difference between a good and a bad arrival is often ten minutes in a public space. Meet and greet puts the chauffeur inside the arrivals hall at the customs exit, and the walk to the car is short and direct; the planning figure is $25–35. A first-class sedan or an executive SUV with privacy glass is the usual choice. For higher-profile arrivals that need security planning, see our VIP and executive protection page. Rolls-Royce and Maybach arrivals are fulfilled through vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, which we say plainly because it affects availability.

Red-eye arrivals and early-morning plans
An overnight flight from LAX lands in Toronto in the early morning, and most hotels will not have your room ready until mid-afternoon. Options: book an hourly chauffeur that takes you for breakfast, a shower at a gym or lounge, then your first meeting, with luggage locked in the car; or ask your hotel for early check-in and have us drop you there so you can leave bags with the concierge. Early-morning traffic into downtown is usually lighter until about 7 am, when the inbound rush on the 427 and Gardiner begins, so an arrival around 6 am can be in a hotel lobby 25 minutes after the car leaves Pearson.
TIFF week and September arrivals
The Toronto International Film Festival takes over downtown every September, and Los Angeles is one of its biggest feeder cities. Hotel rooms around King Street West fill, streets near festival venues close or narrow, and pickups need more planning. If you are flying in for the festival, book early, because first-class sedans and SUVs are in demand that week. Tell us your hotel and the venues you are heading to, and the chauffeur will plan drop-offs on side streets that stay open. Our TIFF transportation page covers festival-week detail, and the official TIFF site lists the programme.
Business travellers and same-day meetings
A morning departure from LAX lands in Toronto around the end of the business day, which makes the evening the realistic window for dinners and the next morning for meetings. For bankers and executives on a two-day visit, an arrival transfer plus an hourly booking the following day usually costs less than several one-way rides. Companies with frequent West Coast travel can open a corporate account with traveller profiles, preferred vehicle settings and consolidated monthly invoicing, so an assistant in Los Angeles can book a car in Toronto without a new form each time.
Returning to Los Angeles: preclearance timing
Flights from Pearson to LAX go through US preclearance in Toronto: you check in, clear Canadian security, then complete a full CBP preclearance inspection before you board, and land at LAX as a domestic passenger with no customs line. Airlines commonly advise arriving about three hours before a US-bound departure. From a King Street West hotel on a weekday afternoon, schedule the pickup about three and a half hours before departure; from Etobicoke or Mississauga, three hours usually works. If you are checking equipment cases or excess baggage, add another half hour. See how early to arrive at Pearson.
Winter arrivals from a warm city
A traveller leaving Los Angeles in January may step out at Pearson into minus 15 with wind. The walk from the terminal door to the commercial pickup area is outdoors, so keep a coat in the carry-on. Chauffeurs pre-heat the car and check Environment Canada forecasts; winter tires go on in season. Snowstorms can slow the highways near Pearson for hours, and de-icing can delay departures, so the return leg in winter should be booked with extra time. Flight tracking takes care of late arrivals without a phone call.
Families and child seats
Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one. Add infant, convertible or booster seats at booking, free or at a planning figure of $10–15 each, and see Ontario's car seat guidance. An executive SUV or luxury van takes six passengers and six bags, the right size for a family with a stroller.
Cancellation and changes
Measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. Productions change schedules constantly, so we treat a moved flight or a changed call time as a change, not a cancellation, as long as dispatch hears about it. Update the flight number in the booking and the pickup moves with it.
How to book your LAX to Pearson pickup
Use the reservation engine on this page or the booking page. Enter Pearson and the terminal, the destination, the arrival date and time in Toronto time, the flight number, passenger and bag counts, and any equipment cases. Choose the vehicle, add meet and greet, a name-board alias or hourly time, and you will see the fixed fare before you pay. Book the return with the preclearance timing above, and both legs appear on a single confirmation.
Music tours, sports teams and group arrivals
Touring musicians, crews and visiting sports teams fly in from Los Angeles with more people and far more equipment than a normal passenger. We plan these arrivals as one job: a Sprinter for the band or team, an SUV for management, and a separate luggage or equipment plan agreed in advance, since instrument cases and road cases can outgrow even a Sprinter. Tell us the headcount, the case count and the venue or hotel, and dispatch will propose the vehicle mix with fixed fares. Coaches for larger groups are fulfilled through vetted partner operators, which we will tell you when quoting.
