Peterborough to Pearson airport by private car with TorontoAirportTransfer.services has a planning figure of $375–450 one way in a business sedan, all-in plus HST. The 135 km drive via Highway 115/35 and the 407 or 401 takes about 90–110 minutes. Cottage addresses in the Kawarthas are priced from the exact location. The reservation engine shows your fixed fare before you confirm.
Peterborough to Pearson airport: what you book and what it includes
Peterborough is the gateway to the Kawarthas and the Trent-Severn Waterway, and a lot of our Peterborough work starts or ends somewhere with a dock. Other trips start at a house in the west end, a Trent University residence or a hotel on Lansdowne Street. In each case the booking is the same: a private vehicle, a professional chauffeur, a fixed fare and a flight that is tracked for the return.
That fare, shown in the reservation engine, includes the chauffeur, the car, fuel, highway tolls when the 407 is used, airport fees and gratuity. HST appears on its own line. There is no meter ticking on the 401 through Scarborough and no surge on a long weekend.
Planning fares from Peterborough and the Kawarthas
| Vehicle | Seats / bags | Peterborough ↔ Pearson (one way, planning figure) |
|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 / 3 | $375–450 |
| First-class sedan | 3 / 3 | about $565–675 |
| Executive SUV | 6 / 6 | about $475–585 |
| Luxury van | 6 / 6 | about $475–585 |

Lakefield, Bridgenorth and Chemong Lake add 15 to 20 minutes; Buckhorn, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and the northern lakes add more. The engine calculates the exact fare for any cottage address once you enter it. For Muskoka, see our separate Toronto to Muskoka route, and for all destinations our rates.
The route: 115/35, then 407 or 401
From Peterborough the chauffeur leaves on the Parkway or Lansdowne Street to Highway 115, runs south-west past Cavan and Bethany to where it merges with Highway 35, and continues south to the tolled eastern extension of Highway 407. The 407 then carries the car west across the top of Durham and York with far less congestion than the 401, before Highway 427 drops south to the Pearson terminals. When the 407 offers no advantage, usually late at night, the chauffeur may continue to the 401 at Newcastle and head west instead.

Expected times: about 90 minutes at night, 100 minutes mid-day, and up to two hours on a Friday afternoon or a summer Sunday, when the southbound 115 is busy with cottage traffic heading back to the city.
Cottage country pickups
Summer and early fall are the Kawarthas' busy season, and a good share of our Peterborough bookings start at a cottage. A few practical notes from the dispatch desk:
- Give the fire number and road name, not just the lake. Two roads on the same lake can be twenty minutes apart.
- Private cottage lanes are often narrow and unpaved. For a Sprinter or long SUV, the chauffeur may meet you at the end of the lane; say so in the booking notes.
- Mobile coverage is patchy around some lakes. The chauffeur will call from the last good signal point if needed, so give a landline or a second number.
- Boat-access cottages: tell us the marina or public landing and the time you expect to reach it.
When to leave Peterborough for your flight
Airlines typically advise arriving around two hours before a domestic departure and around three before an international one; confirm with yours. Then add the drive and a buffer:
- 11:30 Canadian and US flight on a weekday: pickup around 7:30.
- 20:00 flight to Europe on a Friday: pickup around 14:45 to stay ahead of the westbound afternoon traffic.
- 06:30 sunrise departure: pickup around 3:00; the 115 and 407 are empty.
- Victoria Day, Canada Day or Labour Day weekends: add 30 minutes each way.
See how early to arrive at Pearson for details by terminal.
Pearson terminals and your return pickup
Air Canada and most Star Alliance carriers use Terminal 1; WestJet, Porter and many others use Terminal 3, and the two are joined by the free Terminal Link train. Check your booking or the terminal finder. For the drive back to Peterborough, the chauffeur is timed to your actual landing, with 60 minutes of waiting included after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a Canadian or US one. Pickup is at the terminal's pre-arranged commercial pickup area; meet and greet inside the arrivals hall is optional at a planning figure of $25–35.
Is there an airport in Peterborough?
Peterborough Airport, south of the city, is a busy general aviation field known for aircraft maintenance and flight training, and it can suit private and charter flights; we meet those too. As far as we know it has no regular scheduled airline service, so check before planning around it. For airline travel, the realistic choices are Pearson and, for some leisure routes, Hamilton, which is further away. Oshawa Executive Airport, about an hour south, is useful for business and private aircraft; see our Oshawa YOO page. Pearson wins for almost every scheduled trip: it has the nonstop international flights, the domestic network and the backup options if a flight is cancelled, and from Peterborough it is not much further than the alternatives.
Trent University and Fleming College
Trent University's Symons Campus straddles the Otonabee River north of downtown, and Fleming College's Sutherland Campus sits in the south-west end. Both welcome international students every September and January, many landing at Pearson with no idea how far Peterborough is. A pre-booked car with flight tracking makes that first day simple: the chauffeur waits, the bags go in the trunk, and the drop-off is the residence door. Students on the same flight can share an SUV and one fare, and parents can book and pay from abroad.
What else we drive to in Peterborough
The Peterborough Lift Lock on the Trent-Severn Waterway, the Canadian Canoe Museum, the downtown theatre and restaurant district on George and Hunter Streets, and the Peterborough Regional Health Centre are all regular addresses. Visitors combining a Toronto trip with a few days in the Kawarthas often book the airport transfer with an hour of sightseeing on the way; tell dispatch and it is priced as a transfer plus hourly time. Municipal information is on the City of Peterborough website.

Peterborough limo uses beyond the airport
Hourly bookings from Peterborough include Toronto concerts and games, medical appointments at Toronto hospitals, and business meetings downtown, with the chauffeur waiting between stops: $130–150 per hour in a sedan or $160–190 in an SUV, three-hour minimum. Weddings at Kawarthas resorts and barn venues need guest shuttles and a car for the couple; stretch limousines and party buses are provided by vetted partner operators, and a coordinator prices the day in writing. See wedding limo and hourly chauffeur service.
Groups and families
A family reunion at a lake, a fishing trip with gear, or a company retreat at a Kawarthas lodge can travel in a 14-seat Sprinter with room for coolers and rods. Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one; the province's car seat guidance explains the stages. Add seats at booking so they are installed before pickup.
GO bus, coach or private car?
GO Transit buses link Peterborough with Oshawa and Toronto, and intercity coaches run to Toronto; see GO Transit for the current service. None goes straight to Pearson without a change, and schedules may not line up with an early or late flight. With luggage, children or a cottage pickup, the private car is the practical choice, though it costs more per person than the bus even with two or three travellers.
Lakefield, Millbrook, Havelock and the townships
Our Peterborough service reaches well beyond the city limits. Lakefield, at the head of the lakes north of the city, adds about 15 minutes. Millbrook and Cavan sit right beside Highway 115, so they are a little closer to Toronto than Peterborough itself and price just below the city band. Norwood and Havelock to the east, and Omemee and Lindsay to the west, are priced from the exact address. If you are travelling with neighbours on the same flight, one larger vehicle with two planned stops is often cheaper than two cars; ask dispatch to price it as a combined trip.
Fall colours and Thanksgiving weekend
Late September and October are some of the busiest weeks on the 115. Visitors fly in to see the Kawarthas in colour, cottagers close up for the season, and Thanksgiving weekend brings heavy traffic in both directions. Book early for those dates, because demand for SUVs and vans rises sharply, and allow an extra half hour for the drive on the Friday and Monday.
Older travellers and medical trips
Many of our Peterborough customers are retirees flying south for the winter or visiting family abroad, and some make regular trips to specialist appointments in Toronto. The chauffeur helps with bags from the door, can wait during an appointment on an hourly booking, and will choose a vehicle with an easy step-in height if you mention it. For wheelchair users, see wheelchair accessible transfers.
Winter driving
Winter on the 115 and 35 brings blowing snow across open fields and occasional freezing rain. Our cars run winter tires all season, and on a warning day from Environment Canada dispatch will call to suggest an earlier pickup. Rural cottage roads may not be ploughed early, so a winter pickup at a four-season cottage may be moved to the nearest main road by arrangement.
Driving yourself and parking
Two hours each way plus a week of airport parking, fuel and tolls: the fixed fare each way costs more, but for many Peterborough families the gap is smaller than it looks, and nobody drives the 407 home at midnight after a long flight. Compare with our fare calculator.
Cancellation
Free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10 % at 72 hours or less; 50 % at 48 hours or less; 100 % at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. All times are measured from the scheduled pickup. Airline schedule changes are handled with a call to dispatch.
