A Hamilton FBO car service collects private jet passengers at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM), where the fixed-base operator listed on its own site as of September 2026 is Onward Aviation in Hangar 4 on Airport Road, Mount Hope. TorontoAirportTransfer.services tracks your tail number, waits at the FBO and quotes one fixed all-in fare; YHM to Pearson is planned at $195–240.
Hamilton FBO car service: booking a private jet pickup
Book through the reservation engine on this page or book a Hamilton private jet transfer. Enter "Onward Aviation, Hamilton airport" or the FBO named on your trip sheet, the aircraft registration, estimated block-in and your destination. The engine shows one fixed price with chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, airport fees, 407 tolls if we use that highway and gratuity included, plus HST shown separately. That matters at Hamilton more than anywhere, because the long runs to Toronto cross some of the busiest stretches of the QEW and 403, and a metered car in that traffic costs whatever the traffic decides. Our price is set when you confirm and stays set.
The FBO at Hamilton airport
Onward Aviation describes itself on its own site as a privately owned, full-service FBO in Hangar 4 at 9300 Airport Road, Mount Hope, open 24/7 with CBSA access and direct airside access for aircraft. It was previously known as Glanford Aviation. Those details come from the operator's pages as checked in September 2026; we are an independent chauffeur service and not part of the FBO. Hamilton's commercial terminal, run by the airport at flyhamilton.ca, is a separate building used by scheduled airlines and cargo operators, so tell us you are flying private: the chauffeur goes to the hangar, not to the airline terminal's pickup lane.

Why flight departments choose Hamilton
Hamilton sits about 11 km south-west of downtown Hamilton, on the escarpment above the city, and it is a busy cargo airport with long runways and round-the-clock operations. For a business jet that means fewer slot pressures than Pearson and a short taxi to the ramp. For passengers the trade-off is road time: Toronto's core is 70–80 km away. It suits principals whose meetings are in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, the Niagara region or the western GTA, and trips where the aircraft is based here for maintenance or fuel pricing. When the destination is Bay Street at 8 a.m., Pearson or Billy Bishop are usually closer, and we will say so if you ask.
Tail-number tracking and staging
We follow the aircraft by registration or call sign from departure. Hamilton gets diversions from Pearson in bad weather and when Pearson's runways are congested, and it also sees arrivals that are earlier than planned because the approach is less crowded. The chauffeur is staged at the FBO before the actual block-in, not the scheduled time, and dispatch texts the lead passenger when the car is waiting. If your aircraft was due at Pearson and diverts to Hamilton, we move the booked car or send the nearest available one and quote the difference before the chauffeur drives. The same tracking applies on departures: we time the pickup to your slot.
Ramp-side versus lobby-side pickup
Onward Aviation advertises direct airside access for aircraft; whether an outside vehicle may drive to the aircraft is a separate question that the FBO and airport security decide visit by visit. Our fare includes a lobby-side pickup, with the chauffeur waiting in the FBO's customer area and helping with bags to the car outside. If you want the car at the aircraft steps, ask at booking. Dispatch will request it from the FBO, follow its escort and vehicle procedure if it agrees, and tell you honestly if it does not. We never promise ramp access that only the FBO can grant.
Customs clearance for international arrivals
Onward Aviation lists CBSA access at its facility. International passengers stay at the FBO until the Canada Border Services Agency has cleared them, and the pilot arranges the arrival report. Travellers who hold membership in the CANPASS Corporate Aircraft or Private Aircraft program follow the program's own reporting rules; CBSA publishes the details, and the rules change, so confirm them on cbsa-asfc.gc.ca rather than relying on a chauffeur company's summary. On our side, international arrivals from outside the US include 60 minutes of waiting from block-in, domestic and US arrivals include 30, and additional waiting is charged in 15-minute blocks shown in advance.
Drive times from Hamilton airport
| From YHM FBO to | Typical off-peak | Weekday peak | Usual road |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Hamilton | 15–20 min | 25–35 min | Hwy 6 / Linc |
| Burlington | 25–30 min | 35–50 min | Hwy 6, 403 |
| Oakville | 35–45 min | 55–75 min | 403 / QEW |
| Toronto Pearson | 45–60 min | 70–90 min | 403, 407 |
| Downtown Toronto / Bay St | 60–75 min | 90–120 min | 403, QEW, Gardiner |
| Niagara Falls | 50–65 min | 60–80 min | 403, QEW |
Times are dispatcher estimates for planning, not promises; winter storms and QEW incidents can add more. We check Ontario 511 before every departure and choose the road, and because the fare is fixed, a detour costs you time, not money.
Planning fares from the Hamilton FBO
The Hamilton airport to Pearson run is planned at $195–240 in a business sedan, all-in plus HST. A first-class sedan is roughly 50 % higher, an executive SUV or luxury van about 25–30 % higher, and a Sprinter about 2.2 times the sedan fare. Downtown Toronto, Yorkville, Burlington, Oakville and Niagara are priced by the reservation engine on the exact address, date and vehicle; enter your destination to see the fixed number. For a day that includes meetings in Hamilton and a dinner in Toronto, the hourly rate is planned at $130–150 in a sedan or $160–190 in an SUV with a three-hour minimum. See all bands on the rates page.
Choosing the vehicle
A business sedan carries three passengers and three bags; a first-class sedan is the S-Class or 7 Series choice for a principal; an executive SUV or luxury van takes six with luggage and is the better winter vehicle on the escarpment roads. A Sprinter moves up to 14 people, useful when a charter brings a team to a plant visit or a sports event. Rolls-Royce and Maybach requests are fulfilled by vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network under our booking and standards; allow extra notice for those in Hamilton.
Crew transport and hotels
Crews overnighting at Hamilton usually stay at hotels near the airport, along the Linc or in downtown Hamilton, all within about 20 minutes. Book them as a separate vehicle so the principal is not waiting while the aircraft is fuelled, chocked and secured. If the aircraft is based at Hamilton for maintenance and the crew live in Toronto, we run the positioning trips in both directions on a standing account through corporate car service, with invoices that show tail number and trip reference. Early-morning crew calls are routine; tell us the report time and we work backwards from it.
Catering and errands from Hamilton and Burlington
Flight departments at Hamilton often source catering from restaurants in Hamilton, Burlington or Oakville rather than Toronto. We collect orders, documents and personal items and deliver them to the FBO desk against a signature. Allow for the distance: an order from a Toronto restaurant needs at least 90 minutes in the car at peak times plus a 45-minute buffer before the crew's cut-off. For hot or chilled food, tell us so the chauffeur sets the cabin temperature before collection. If the delivery will be late, the chauffeur calls the FBO directly so the crew can make the call on waiting.

Discretion for private travellers
The FBO's lounge is quiet, but the road to Toronto is long, and passengers use it to work or rest. Chauffeurs keep conversation to what you want, carry phone chargers and bottled water, and adjust climate and music without being asked twice. They wear plain dark suits and drive unmarked vehicles. They do not discuss passengers, aircraft or destinations with anyone and do not photograph guests or aircraft. When a principal travels with close protection, we coordinate with the detail lead on seating, routes and stops; see VIP and executive protection transport for the scope of what a chauffeur service can offer.
Departures to Hamilton from Toronto
If you are flying out of Hamilton, build in the road. From Bay Street at 4 p.m., the QEW and 403 through Mississauga and Oakville can take up to two hours; at 10 a.m. the same run might take 65 minutes. We recommend pickup times using live traffic plus the FBO's preferred arrival buffer, typically 20–30 minutes before wheels-up. For early departures the 407 ETR often saves 15–25 minutes; the fixed fare already includes the toll if dispatch chooses it. The chauffeur goes straight to Hangar 4 or the FBO you name, not the passenger terminal.
Hamilton, Pearson or Billy Bishop?
For meetings in the western GTA, Hamilton, Burlington or Niagara, Hamilton airport usually means less total time door to door. For the downtown core, Billy Bishop is closest if the aircraft is a turboprop, and the Pearson FBOs take jets of any size around the clock. Waterloo suits trips to Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. We serve all of them, so the choice can follow the flight plan rather than the ground transportation. Our Hamilton airport page covers airline arrivals at the commercial terminal, and the Hamilton city page covers local trips.
Children, accessibility and special requests
Families flying privately into Hamilton can add infant, convertible or booster seats at booking; they are free or a small planning figure of $10–15 each, installed before the aircraft lands. Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one; the province's car seat guidance explains the stages. For wheelchair users, request a ramp-equipped vehicle through wheelchair-accessible transfers. Pets in carriers, golf bags, ski equipment and cases of wine are all fine if you tell us in advance so we send the right vehicle.
Onward trips to Niagara and wine country
Hamilton is the closest jet-capable airfield to the Niagara Peninsula, so many private arrivals continue to Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake or the wineries along the Beamsville Bench. The drive along the QEW takes 40–65 minutes depending on the destination and the Burlington Skyway traffic. For a day of tastings, book the car by the hour so the chauffeur waits at each stop and nobody has to think about driving. Our Niagara wine tours page explains how those days run, and group arrivals of more than six people are best in a luxury van or Sprinter. Return the same evening to the FBO, or on to a Toronto hotel, on one reservation.
Booking checklist
Give dispatch the FBO name, the aircraft registration or call sign, the estimated block-in, passenger and bag count, and the destination address. Add the lead passenger's mobile number. Charter brokers can book for clients and receive confirmations separately. Cancellations are measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100 %. For every airfield we cover, see private jet and FBO transfers.
