A Casa Loma limo or private car drops you at 1 Austin Terrace, in the castle's East Parking Lot, which is where Casa Loma says taxis and special-needs vehicles should set down. From Pearson, expect a fare close to the $130–160 downtown band in a business sedan, all-in plus HST; the engine quotes the exact figure. The castle is open daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
Casa Loma limo and private car: why the car makes sense here
Casa Loma is the Gothic Revival mansion Sir Henry Pellatt built on the Davenport ridge in the early twentieth century, and it is now one of Toronto's most photographed buildings. The one practical thing every visitor learns is that it sits at the top of a steep hill. From Dupont station, the nearest subway stop, you either climb the Baldwin Steps or walk the long way round up Spadina Road.
That hill is why a Casa Loma limo or private car is more than a luxury. For grandparents, families with strollers, wedding parties in formal clothes and anyone visiting in January ice, being set down at the top rather than the bottom changes the day. TorontoAirportTransfer.services quotes the whole trip as one fixed fare in the reservation engine, including gratuity, fuel and any tolls, with HST shown separately.
Exactly where the car drops you off
The address is 1 Austin Terrace, a short street off Spadina Road just north of Davenport. On its accessibility page, Casa Loma says taxis and special-needs vehicles may drop off visitors in the East Parking Lot, and our chauffeurs use that lot for drop-off and pickup. There are also two wheelchair-accessible parking spots in the West Parking Lot, but a chauffeured drop means you do not need them.
We approach from Spadina Road, climbing from Davenport, then turn onto Austin Terrace. When a school group, a Halloween event or a wedding is loading, the lot can be busy; the chauffeur waits at the edge of the lot or on the street and texts you the exact position for the return. Allow two or three minutes to walk from the car to the admissions desk.

What to see and how long to allow
A self-guided visit covers the grand main-floor rooms, the bedroom suites upstairs, the two towers, the underground tunnel and the stables, plus the estate gardens in season. Most visitors spend two to three hours; architecture and history enthusiasts can easily make it half a day. For an hourly booking we plan 2.5 hours inside plus travel.
Do the towers early, before your legs tire, and walk the tunnel to the stables last, so you finish near the gardens. In summer, set aside time for the terraces and the view south over the city toward the lake.
Hours and tickets
Casa Loma is open daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Buy general admission tickets online through the castle's official website before the car picks you up; the last entry is earlier than closing, so check the site if you are planning a late-afternoon visit. We do not sell tickets and have no affiliation with the castle.
In autumn the castle runs Legends of Horror, a ticketed Halloween theatrical experience in the evenings, which the castle describes as running for its tenth year in 2026. Those nights bring heavy traffic on Spadina Road and Austin Terrace. If you are booking a car for Legends of Horror, set the pickup at least 15 minutes before your entry time and agree the return meeting point in advance.
Accessibility: what is and is not step-free
Casa Loma is honest about its limits, and so are we. According to the castle's accessibility page:
- The basement, second and third floors are reached by a staff-operated elevator reserved for visitors who cannot climb the stairs.
- The Scottish and Norman towers are reached only by spiral staircases.
- The 800-foot tunnel leading to the Carriage Room, Potting Shed and Stables has stairs.
- A limited number of wheelchairs are available free of charge, and accessible washrooms are on the main floor.
- Service dogs are welcome in the castle and the estate gardens.
For a guest who stays in their own wheelchair, book one of our wheelchair-accessible transfers so a ramp or lift vehicle comes to the East Parking Lot. For someone who can transfer, a luxury van's lower step is easiest.

From Pearson: castle on the way to your hotel
Visitors staying in Yorkville, the Annex or Forest Hill pass close to Casa Loma on the way in from the airport. Book a Pearson to downtown run on an hourly basis and the chauffeur keeps the luggage locked in the car while you tour. The route from Pearson usually uses the 401 east and Allen Road south to Eglinton or Davenport, which avoids the Gardiner entirely.
Flight tracking times the chauffeur to your actual landing, with 60 minutes of included waiting on international arrivals and 30 on Canadian and US. Find your terminal with our terminal finder, and add meet and greet inside the arrivals hall if you want help with bags.
Combining Casa Loma with nearby sights
The castle sits in a quiet residential pocket, but several good stops are within minutes.
- Spadina Museum, a historic house and gardens run by the City of Toronto, is right next door on Spadina Road.
- The Baldwin Steps lead down to Davenport Road and give one of the classic views of the downtown skyline.
- The Royal Ontario Museum and Yorkville are about ten minutes southeast.
- Wychwood and the St. Clair West strip are a short drive north for lunch.
- The Art Gallery of Ontario is 15–20 minutes south down Spadina.
Half-day itinerary with a waiting chauffeur
- Hotel pickup at 9:15 am so you arrive as the doors open at 9:30 and have the towers to yourself.
- Two and a half hours in the castle, the tunnel, the stables and, in season, the gardens.
- Short ride down to Yorkville for lunch.
- Return to the hotel, or add the ROM in the afternoon.
Four hours of hourly chauffeur service in a sedan is a planning figure of $520–600 plus HST.

Full-day itinerary: castle, museum and skyline
For seven to eight hours, start at Casa Loma at opening, move to the ROM for lunch and the early afternoon, drive down University Avenue to the waterfront, and finish at the CN Tower for sunset. It is our most requested first-timer's day, and it flows because each stop is a short drive from the last.
Our Toronto city tours page has more chauffeured sightseeing plans. For six guests, an executive SUV or luxury van at $160–190 per hour keeps everyone together.
Weddings, photos and proms
Casa Loma is one of the city's best-known wedding and event venues, and photographers love its terraces and staircases. Our wedding limo page explains how we plan bridal cars, guest shuttles and timing around a ceremony or photo session. Stretch limousines, Rolls-Royce and vintage cars come through vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, and multi-vehicle weddings are priced in writing by a coordinator.
For prom and graduation photos at the castle, see our prom and graduation limo page. Check with the castle about photography permissions before planning a shoot.
Corporate groups, delegations and visiting families
The castle is a regular stop for visiting delegations and conference groups who have an afternoon free, and for families showing overseas relatives the city. For a group of up to 14, a single Sprinter keeps everyone together and parks in the East Parking Lot while you tour; above that, coaches are arranged through vetted partner operators and priced in writing by a coordinator. Our VIP delegations and consular page covers protocol-sensitive visits, and family visits and reunions covers the relatives-from-abroad day out.
If you would rather drive yourself
Casa Loma has its own paid parking on site, and the castle keeps two accessible spots in the West Parking Lot. For locals, driving is easy outside event nights. Visitors in rental cars tend to find the combination of the steep approach, one-way residential streets around Austin Terrace and busy event evenings less relaxing than a chauffeured drop, and a hired car removes the question of who drives home after dinner.
Families with children
Children love the secret passages, towers and tunnel, but the stairs make strollers awkward, so bring a carrier for babies. Whatever the exemptions for taxis and buses, we fit the right child seat for every child who needs one. The province's car seat guidance helps you pick the right one.
Seasons and weather
Summer and early autumn are the best time for the gardens, and the view from the terraces is sharpest on clear days. Winter visits are quieter inside, but the ridge catches snow and ice, and Spadina Road is steep; our chauffeurs drive winter-tired cars and drop you as close to the entrance as the lot allows. In October, the Legends of Horror season adds evening crowds, so daytime visits that month are best done early.
A layover visit from Pearson
With a daytime layover of about eight hours or more and eligibility to enter Canada, Casa Loma is a realistic stop because the Allen Road route from Pearson avoids downtown traffic. Clear the border first; most visa-exempt air travellers need an eTA. Allow 35–45 minutes each way, two hours at the castle, and three hours at Pearson before an international departure. Read our guide to arriving in Canada at Pearson.
